Join Us! Watershed Management Plan Update Workshops

The South Washington Watershed District is seeking input from people who live, work and recreate in the area to help shape our 2026–2035 Watershed Management Plan. We’d like to know what issues concern you the most and where you’d like to see us focus our attention in the coming years.

Feedback will be solicited at two public workshops to discuss key issues related to surface water quality, groundwater protection, local environmental issues, and other natural resource issues concerning the residents of SWWD. Attendees will be seated in small groups to answer questions, and to ask questions of their own. South Washington Watershed District staff members will be there to answer all your questions related to water quality issues.

When are the workshops?

The first workshop will take place on Tuesday July 30th from 6-8 PM inside the recently opened Glacial Valley Park Building in Cottage Grove, MN (9900 Ravine Parkway, Cottage Grove, MN 55016).

The second workshop will take place on Thursday August 29th from 6-8 PM inside Ojibway Park Building in Woodbury, MN (2695 Ojibway Dr, Woodbury, MN 55125).

Both workshops will be the same in content, so choose the date that works for you!

Why are we asking for feedback?

By state law, watershed districts are required to prepare a Watershed Management Plan every ten years. Our new plan will cover the years 2026–2035 and establish the goals and programs that will guide our work over this time. We’re hoping to gain insights from our residents on natural resource issues that are important to you. While our landscape and community needs may differ across the District, many of the natural and water resources challenges that we face are similar: excess nutrients, chlorides, bacterial contamination, preservation of critical habitat, and groundwater conservation and protection.
